1957年、鹿児島生まれ。

早稲田大学政治経済学部経済学科卒業、経済学士。 

大学卒業後、「週刊サンケイ」編集部(産経新聞社/サンケイ出版)を皮切りに、「主婦の友」、「エスクァイア日本版」など、大手出版社の社員編集者を経て、独立。 独立後は、海外取材、編集執筆活動の傍ら、 放送作家、マンガ原作、ビジネススクール講師、大手企業コンサルタントなど、幅広く活動。 

また、オリンピック前のアトランタに居住、ダイナミックな大都市アトランタの魅力をあますところなく 捉えた「アトランタ ビーツ」(東洋経済新報社) を1996年に上梓、週間ベストセラーとなる。 

2002年、日本初の本格的ニュースを扱う日刊無料新聞「HEADLINE TODAY」(現「TOKYO HEADLINE」)を発行する株式会社ヘッドライン(資本金1億円)を設立、代表取締役編集長。閉塞的な日本のメディア界に新風 を吹き込んだと、英国の「THE TIMES」紙を はじめ多数の取材を受け、世界的な話題に。 

2004年、株式会社アシェット婦人画報社入社。世界10カ国で発行される世界最大の映画雑誌「プレミア」日本版編集長。 

2006年、富裕者層向けメンバーシップマガジン「ラピタプレミアム」(小学館メディアプロモーション)編集長。

2009年、AMEX上級会員向けマガジン「DEPARTURES」(小学館/アメリカンエクスプレス)編集長。 

2013年、超富裕層向けマガジン「Luxury Bible」を創刊 。この間 、イタリア高級家具「B&B Italia」やイタリア高級クルーザー「AZIMUT」の日本総代理店契約交渉成約をはじめ、アストンマーティン日本総代理店の中長期経営戦略作成など、ラグジュアリーブランドのコンサルタント業務も担当。 

2019年、サティス株式会社取締役に招聘され、富裕層向けライフスタイルサイト「Satiss」(https://satiss.net/)を運営指揮。

□Background
After graduating from university, worked as an editor of Weekly Sankei (84-87, Sankei Shimbun/Sankei Publishing), Shufu no Tomo (87, Shufu no Tomo), Esquire Japan Edition (88-89, UPU Inc.), Weekly Themis (89-91, Gakken) and GAP DEUX (Editor in Chief and Manager, 91-92, Gap Japan) as an employee editor before going independent.
Won the Editor-in-Chief's Award by Weekly Sankei for his coverage of the Japan Airlines plane crash. 

In addition to his overseas reporting and writing, he has worked as a broadcast writer (mainly for TBS), original manga writer (Young Magazine, etc.), producer of the Japanese edition of PENTHOUSE, lecturer at the Tokyo School of Business, consultant for Shikoku Kasei, JAL Data Communications and others.
He also lived in Atlanta before the Olympics and published "Atlanta Beats" (Toyo Keizai Shinposha) in 1996, which became a weekly bestseller and captured all the attractions of the dynamic metropolis.
In 2002, he founded Headline Inc. (capital: 100 million yen), which publishes Japan's first free daily newspaper "HEADLINE TODAY" (now TOKYO HEADLINE), which deals with authentic news, and became its representative director and editor-in-chief. The newspaper received numerous media coverage, including in the UK's THE TIMES, and became a nationwide phenomenon, as it breathed new life into Japan's stagnant media landscape. Since then, it has triggered a rapid increase in the number of free media in Japan.
In 2004, joined Hachette Fujingaho Co. As the editor-in-chief of the Japanese edition of "Premiere", the world's largest film magazine published in 10 countries, he became deeply involved with global luxury brands.
In 2006, became the editor-in-chief of "Lapita Premium" (Shogakukan), a membership magazine for the wealthy.
In 2009, became the editor-in-chief of "DEPARTURES" (Shogakukan/American Express), the magazine for AMEX Centurion/Platinum members. Spent half of the year as an editor travelling abroad.
In 2013, he launched Connoisseurs Publishing LLC, which focuses on marketing to the wealthy, and launched "Luxury Bible", a magazine for the ultra-rich.
During this period, he was also in charge of consultancy work for luxury brands, including negotiating and concluding exclusive agency contracts in Japan for Italian luxury furniture brand B&B Italia and Italian luxury cruiser AZIMUT, as well as creating medium- and long-term management strategies for Aston Martin's exclusive agency in Japan.
In 2019, he was invited to join the board of Satiss K.K., where he leads the operation of Satiss (https://satiss.net/), a travel and lifestyle website for the ultra-wealthy.
